1961 W121 190 SL
RESTORED TO ITS FORMER GLORY
This American spec 190SL was brought back from the US by its former owner and fully restored by TURAH. Since the restauration it was only driven 500 km as test miles. The car is matching number with the exception of the paint color and interior. This new color combination shows every detail and perfection of this car with its unmatched curves that are not less impressive than the 300sl. This American spec 190SL has also been fitted with modern amenities such as a state-of-the-art audio system, improved suspension, and additional chrome accents to further enhance its classic appeal.
MERCEDES BENZ W121 190 SL Roadster
Mercedes-Benz did not announce what the abbreviation "SL" meant when the car was introduced. It is often assumed that the letters stand for Sport Leicht. One car magazine in 2012 declared that the abbreviation "SL" - "securitized and personally signed by Rudolf Uhlenhaut" meant Super Leicht. This contradicts another source, written in close cooperation with Rudolf Uhlenhaut, which stated that the abbreviation meant Sport Leicht.
